I have an outstanding amount which was transferred to our Maybank account on 11th August 2009.

We haven’t received an email from the payer, and I can’t figure out who it is.

If you have paid us and not received your order since 11th August, please drop me an email at tinytapir at gmail dot com so I can send out your order!

Bangsar Village’s Village Grocer goes Plastic Bagless August 11, 2009

We love it when there’s less disposable plastic being used.  And we love it even more when initiatives are made by our local businesses to drive down waste and unnecessary.

The very delicious Village Grocer at Bangsar Village will be going no-free plastic bags from 12th August 2009. This means you’ll need to pay for your disposable plastic bag (as you should… those things aren’t free!!).

We salute Village Grocer for this great educating campaign – it’s not easy to go against popular demand for disposable plastic bags (just like doing the right thing is often more difficult than following the crowd).  We hope all of you will support Village Grocer in their bold move!

In conjunction with that, Bangsar Village has kindly allowed us to set up a booth at Bangsar Village from 5th to 25th of August to showcase the beautifully stylish and (extremely) wide ranges of reusable bag options available.

We have our RuMes, Onyabags and Rooshoppers already there, soon we will have the string bags there too.

20% of Tiny Tapir’s sales proceeds will go to the Malaysian Nature Society

A whopping 50% of Tiny Tapir’s sales of the RM15 string bags will go towards Bangsar Village’s Kids for Kids Charity.  You can see the photos of the repurposed Banner totes Bangsar Village made for sale at RM10 each (proceeds to charity), but they sold out in 5 days!  So Tiny Tapir will offer the string bags in their place.

Specials for the booth – purchase any 5 of the bags we have for sale (mix and match between the brands) and you’ll get 10% off your entire purchase

So come support a cause while getting a discount for yourself too!

Come over and discuss on the Tiny Tapir Facebook Fan page

New arrival at Tiny Tapir….. August 10, 2009

Filed under: operations — tinytapir @ 12:42 pm

… but you can’t buy it!

It’s our long anticipated….

Credit card Terminal!!!

credit card terminalSeems like it’s been forever since I’ve been promising “Credit cards available from next week”, but now we are finally able to offer credit card services at our Tiny Tapir Baby store in Ampang Park.  No need to run to the ATM anymore!

We’re still working on the online credit card services and the installment payment plan services (yay!), but in the meantime, at least the first step is done.

Thanks to our lovely customers for their support even when we were credit card – less

(and thanks to Alliance Bank … finally!)

Change of Phone Number June 30, 2009

Whoops!

We used to use www.happy.com.my for the Tiny Tapir mobile phone number.

Unfortunately someone *ahem ahem* forgot to reload the card and didn’t get any reminder sms that the phone number was going to expire.  So now the number is burned! And can never be used again!

Dangers of prepaid phones I guess..

To be honest, to review it, the Happy phone service was not that great.  Every time I made or received a phone call there would be this ear splitting series of BEEPS so I would always miss the first part of conversations (anyone who has called Tiny Tapir can probably attest to that!).

So there’s a new mobile number for Tiny Tapir – +6 012 294 6449 . Sorry for whoever’s been trying to contact us these last few days!

Darn. what to do with all these inaccurate name cards now….

Will be in on Sunday June 19, 2009

Filed under: operations — tinytapir @ 12:34 am

Nisha (our lovely part time sales girl) will be off this Sunday, instead I’ll be taking her place from 11am to 7pm (closing 1 hour earlier than our usual time of 8pm)

So if you have any questions or queries you’d like to ask me personally (although Baiti our shop manager is becoming quite the expert in cloth diapers and ring slings!) do feel free to drop by this Sunday 21st June 2009 at our Ampang Park store.

What’s with the sudden silence? June 11, 2009

S’been quiet around here, but rest assured many little things are going on behind the scenes here at Tiny Tapir.

We’re working out a lot of kinks and processes to hopefully make things go a lot smoother in the future (without as much running around like headless chickens)…

A few things on the drawing board :

  • Our wholesale / distribution program is being revamped with a lot of exciting and beloved products coming out in a big way
  • We’re 95% complete on our stock organization and moving upstairs at the Bungalow@Damai – which leaves the whole of downstairs for use by the Doodlebug Girls
  • Soon we’ll be ready to hold workshops, support groups and other events upstairs at the Bungalow@Damai – if you have any class / subject suggestions, or if you’re looking for a nice, clean, cozy venue in the middle of town, do contact us
  • A few new product are in the planning stages (we promise they’re not just family related products, for those of you who aren’t parents)
  • The Parenthood Fair in Midvalley is coming up in August 2009 – there will be lots of bargains to be had there!

So please do bear with us, we’re getting there!
