What ?

Tiny Tapir will be at the booth near the escalators at Bangsar Village I, selling lots of really great gifts for Christmas.

We’ll be featuring our “special guest” products on the blog the next few days, but the Tiny Tapir staples of the following will be there too :

Picnic@the Bungalow – 9th August 2009 August 10, 2009

The picnic went off pretty good, with a good turnout and lots of kids running around and enjoying the Bungalow’s facilities.

There was the sandbox, little blow up horses to ride, the trampoline to jump on, Cupcake decorating with the Doodlebug ladies, arts and crafts in the courtyard, storytelling by Ann of the Roving library.  And for the grownups, there were some great vendors to browse through.

There was Chicken and Sausages on the BBQ with hot dog rolls and salad, sandwich rolls, home made cookies and cupcakes and plenty of cold drinks in the ice box.   Lots of parents bought their own picnic too, and enjoyed eating it out on the grass in the open air.

Upstairs, the bento-making proved very popular (thanks Christene!) while there was plenty of mamas helping mamas with learning how to ring sling and what cloth padding is all about – Mama Patch, Jumpsac and Mei’s Mei Tai were in attendance.  (no, the cloth pad making demo didn’t happen, but hopefully next time! I think we were too busy chilling out downstairs).

Thanks to everyone for making it such a success, we hope everyone had a great time and that you’ll want to come to the next one!

Swap meet – Sat 31/1/09 at the Bungalow@Damai January 19, 2009

Looks like there’s sufficient interest, so please do come and spread the word among your friends who are sceptical about babywearing and cloth diapering maybe we will get some converts!

The swap meet will be on Sat 31/1/09 between 2pm and 6pm at the Bungalow@damai

Everyone is welcome – if you want to find out more about cloth diapering, baby wearing or you are already doing both and want to get some great bargains on preloved items.   If you have preloved items you’re no longer using, be sure to bring them along and maybe you can swap it for something you will use more / sell it for some pocket money!

Here are the details for the day :

2pm – welcome, chat and swap / buy / sell
3pm – 3.30pm – Short talk on Babywearing by Jess (proposed right now, can’t quite seem to be able to get hold of Jess
3.30pm – 4pm – Intro talk and video on Baby Signs
4pm – 4.30pm – Short talk on Cloth Diapering and about Doodlebugs

We’ll end up around 6pm to 7pm, but won’t be rushing people out, looking forward to a nice relaxed meet up with everyone

The talks are obviously only if you want to listen!  They’ll be held at a room on the side.

The Tiny Tapir shop things will all only be in the shop room, and will be open if you want to go and browse our things too, but the Lounge and grassy area will be only for the swap / preloved items.

There won’t be any food or refreshments (other than water!) provided as it’s a free event unless we manage to find someone who wants to set up a food stall for the event.

For everyone who visited us at the Parenthood Fair this last weekend at Midvalley (I know there were a few of you who made the trip specially to see us!) – a huge big thank you for your support.

We’ll be putting up photos of the stall soon and a write up of what happened and what is involved in doing one of these events (seriously, it’s pretty exhausting).

Unfortunately we didn’t do so great in terms of sales this fair – it’s expensive to take part and sales didn’t justify the effort and expense.  Hopefully some new people know about us now and it will pay off in the long term.  We’re still debating whether or not to take part in next year’s fair or not…

We at Tiny Tapir really do need your support – without your support we can’t continue to get in interesting new products or offer reasonable prices.

Ongoing – Parenthood Fair August 22, 2008

Today’s the first day of the 4th Parenthood Fair at Midvalley.

It’s HUGE! This year is the biggest Parenthood Fair held in Malaysia so far – previous years there was only one Hall occupied at the Mid Valley Exhibition Center.  This year there’s two!

Dumex has gone all out in Exhibition Hall 2 with a huge bouncy castle (ok it’s not a castle, it’s a germ shaped bouncy thing) and educational games.

There are also programs throughout the fair, such as babywearing how-tos, and many competitions with some great prizes.

So if you have some spare time, head over to the Exhibition Center – there are some really good deals going on for mothers, with lots of freebies.

Tiny Tapir is doing a ‘free natural Soapy Soap’ if you sign up at our booth.  We’ve completely stuffed our booth full of our goodies too! (photos coming soon)

Parenthood Fair this weekend at Mid Valley August 20, 2008

Tiny Tapir will be taking part in the Parenthood Fair this Friday to Sunday (22nd to 24th August 2008).

The Parenthood Fair is being held in the Midvalley Exhibition Halls - both of them! So you can imagine how many different booths there will be ranging from small niche shops like Tiny Tapir, Sashanmom and The Baby Loft to huge corporations like Dumex and Medela.

We’re going to be there with Grace of Lil Danzell, so come and visit us to talk to the diaper guru (who owns over 200 of her OWN cloth diapers for her baby!) and see what both our stores have to offer (boy will we be cramming it into that little space).

Tiny Tapir / Lil Danzell will be at Booth A12 – Midvalley Exhibition Hall 1 - look for us right opposite the credit card stand.

Sorry though due to my utter disorganization and stupidity, I forgot to submit the Credit Card Facility Form, so we won’t be able to accept credit card. But as a consolation, we will pass on the 2.5% Credit Card Charge as a discount to all shoppers on the day!
